Dr. Rivera graduated from the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University in 2001. He completed his 1st year of training at Ventura County Medical Center (UCLA), 2nd and 3rd year at Lawrence General Hospital (Tufts). He holds a M.P.H. from Harvard University and has worked as a Hospitalist at Yale New Haven Hospital from 2007 through 2013. Dr. Rivera returned to Family Medicine, and took over his Father Family Medicine Clinic in the summer of 2012 to continue and to serve Southington and nearby communities. Dr. Rivera is affiliated with Midstate Medical Center and Yale New Haven Hospital. Dr Rivera enjoys traveling and family time on his days off.
Alyssa A. Anderson is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Quinnipiac University in 2006 and began working at Yale New Haven Hospital as a Registered Nurse. While enjoying her career at Yale, she decided to further advance her career, receiving her Master of Science in Nursing from Sacred Heart University in 2011. Alyssa now joins Southington Family Medical Center with over 8 years of diverse experience in the primary care setting as a Nurse Practitioner. She has a passion for caring for all individuals and staying up to date with the advances in healthcare. This is done to further educate herself and to provide the best possible care for her patients. Alyssa is eager to become a valuable member of the SFMC family and is excited to be working in her hometown.
